ETHANE METER UPGRADE PROJECT, PETROKEMYA (SABIC)

Project management, installation, testing and pre-commissioning of all the facilities related to the ethane metering project at Arabian Petrochemical Company (Petrokemya). The scope of this project covers:

  • Ethane Metering System, which includes meter skid, flow computer cabinet, cables, wiring, access platforms, sun-shade, etc.
  • 2 no. x Ethane Inlet Filters, including the loading of filter media and supply/install of access platform structure.
  • 1 no. x Air Surge Drum that will be connected to Petrokemya existing instrument air system and supply dry air to new EIV and other users in the area.
  • UPS System, which includes shelter, UPS, batteries, wiring, etc., including power supply feeders from existing substation to UPS Shelter.
  • Analyzer System, which includes Gas Chromatograph, gas bottles, shelter, wiring, etc.
  • Modification and refurbishment of the existing Metering Building to expand its size to accept the new flow computer cabinets, FCP, GCP and other panels required for this Project.
  • Fire and Gas Detection System, including detectors in the metering compound yard.
  • Extension of meter compound fence.
  • Tie-ins to existing Ethane distribution piping, utility piping and relief header piping.
  • Configuration of new I/O and graphics into existing DCS.
  • Earthworks, foundations, surfacing, grading, structural steel, platforms, piping, wiring, lighting, grounding, and all other interconnections to make a mechanically complete system that is ready for commissioning.

KING ABDULLAH PETROLEUM STUDIES & RESEARCH CENTER (KAPSARC) UTILITIES & ENERGY FIELD PACKAGE, RIYADH

LSPB project to construct the utilities and solar power system required for the proposed King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) at Riyadh.
The scope of this project covers:

  • Site preparation works

  • Design, engineering, supply, construction, integration with the utility source at 13.8kV & 60Hz frequency, pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning of a Grid connected Solar Power Farm which will supply 5,800 MWh/year of annual energy on AC side to the grid, which includes; grading, paving, design and construction of building in solar energy farm, HVAC, Electrical work for the building, the laying of underground conduit from solar array to the building, installation of LV switchboard, 750 KVA step-up transformers, 13.8KV SF6 switchgear, laying of 13.8KV cable from solar farm to main substation at KAPSARC.
  • Construction of a chiller plant consisting of 6 nos. 1250 Tons centrifugal water cooled chillers including refrigerant management system, refrigerant leak detection system, vibration isolators, pumps, expansion tanks, chemical treatment unit, side/bypass filters, piping, control systems for chiller plant, MOVs, instruments and electrical supply for all equipment, etc.
  • Cooling Tower with induced draft counter flow type (6 cells).
  • HVAC system including Air Handling Units (AHU) and Fan Coil Units (FCU).
  • Aluminum cladding for operation and maintenance building, chiller plant building, storage building and musalla.
  • Construction of water storage tanks (steel);
    • 2 nos. irrigation water storage tanks (21 m dia. x 6.5 m height, cone roof type)

  • Installation of Honeywell Integrated Building Management System (IBMS), Fire Alarm Control Systems, PLC systems at Chiller Plant and RO Plant, DDC control panels, etc.

UPGRADE OF ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AT FIVE (5) SOUTHERN AREA GAS OIL SEPARATION PLANTS (GOSP), SAUDI ARAMCO

LSPB project to upgrade existing electrical distribution systems at five (5) GOSPs at Shedgum & Uthmaniyah areas. The existing obsolete electrical equipments and the existing van contained substation shall be demolished and new substations shall be constructed at new locations as per Saudi Aramco standards.

The project consists of procurement, installation, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning of the following:

CONSTRUCTION OF 69/13.8KV SUBSTATION (DHAHRAN)

LSTK project for design, engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning of a new 69/13.8 KV substation.

The scope includes:

  • Power Transformers, 30/40MVA, 69/13.8KV;69kV SF6 Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS);13.8kV, Indoor switchgear with Vacuum circuit breakers;
  • Other 13.8kv and low voltage electrical works consist of following;
    • Two (2) 500 KVA, (minimum), 13.8kv -380/220 volt ONAN station service transformer.
    • One (1) ring main unit (RMU), 25KA for 1 sec, SF6 insulated outdoor type with two (2) load break ring switches and one fuse switch or circuit breaker for the tee off circuit.
    • One (1) dry type transformer 3
    • 80-220/127volt AC. 380/220V and 220/127V AC distribution panel boards complete with breakers.

LSPB project for the installation of major electrical and control system equipment, cable trays, conduits and wireways, cable, wire, conduit and fixtures, connections, terminations, testing and pre-commissioning of all electrical and control systems.

Yanbu Gas Plant

  • Install six new Honeywell GUS stations and tabletops in the new console arrangement in the central control room;
  • Install 13 HPMs in the satellite instrument houses
  • Install 10 TMRs in the satellite instrument houses;
  • Install 13 UPS systems and batteries in substations;
  • Install Burner Management System for boilers;
  • Upgrade 2 ABB Vista workstations for the analyzers;

East/West Pipeline

  • Install densitometer RTUs c/w shades;
  • Install 22 protocol converters at pump stations and PRS-1;
  • Replace two ultrasonic flow meters at KP-1010;

  • Conduits pull boxes installation to lay the cables;
  • Pre-commissioning assistance to the vendors provided by Saudi Aramco.

RELAY BASED ESD AND AUXILIARY SYSTEM REPLACEMENT (JUAYMAH)

Lump sum project for the replacement of obsolete relay based ESD and auxiliary systems with new process automation systems.

The work is primarily based in the four control rooms, such as Central Control Room, Feed & Product Surge Control Room, Utilities Control Room & Sea Island Control Room.

The work includes: ESD systems, DCS systems, MMS systems, Compressor control systems, Governor controls, Bently Neveda systems, Trionex Tristation network, CCC Trainview network, field modifications, etc.

YANBU PROCESS AREA ESD AND MARINE METERING CONTROL SYSTEM REPLACEMENT

Lump sum project for the replacement of obsolete ESD and auxiliary systems with new process automation systems.

The project consists of the following:

  • Installation of new ESD TMR system and DCS equipment in Process Control House (PCH) for V11-C1A/B and demolish the obsolete ESD and control relay panels;
  • Installation of new DCS cabinets, DCS consoles, TMR cabinets, RPMS system servers and computer cabinets in Process Control House (PCH) and Process Interface Building (PIB).
  • Installation of CCTV monitors and VESDA smoke detection systems in PCH;
  • Installation of UPS in the marine terminal building;
  • Installation of new PLC, flow computers, DCS panels and consoles to replace the marine metering control system and DCS in the marine building;
  • Installation of remote DCS I/O cabinets in Substations 1, 2, 3 & 4;
  • Installation of new fiber optic networks to link the marine DCS and the tank farm control room;
  • Installation of field instruments comprises of control valves, transmitters, petitioners, I/P Converters, etc.;

REINFORCEMENT OF 110/13.8KV HAJJ TERMINAL SUBSTATION

Design, engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning for changing of MV connection of 2 out of 4 existing transformers 40MVA to new MV Switchgear along with installation of new 20 outgoing 13.8KV feeders at New Airport Hajj Terminal Substation.

Start Date: 11/02- Completion Date: 01/04

UPGRADE AL-HASA ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS

LSPB contract to upgrade three Substations in Al-Hasa area. The work involves:

  • Installation of one (1) 115 KV outdoor dead tank circuit breaker, 115KV disconnect switch and associated bus structures to replace the existing outdoor gantry.
  • Installation of three (3) 34.5KV outdoor dead tank circuit breakers, disconnect switches, surge arrestors and associated bus structures.
  • Installation of 34.5KV and 13.8KV indoor metal clad switchgear at different substations to replace the existing switchgear.
  • Installation of RTU and annunciation equipment.
  • Construction of battery building and installation of battery & charger.
All other electrical and civil works including installation of NGR, cabling, fire alarm, lighting, telephone, equipment foundations, etc.

COMMUNICATION FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION & RESTORATION

Installation of Solar Systems, UPS Systems, Rectifiers and Batteries, Generators and Transformers, Communication Antenna Towers, Air Conditioning and Piping and all civil works such as excavation, backfilling, asphalt cutting, etc. required for the restoration of communication facilities of Saudi Aramco throughout Saudi Arabia.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM UPGRADE, NORTHERN AREA PRODUCING, PHASE I, TANAJIB AND SAFANIYA

LSTK Project involving design, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning.

The work includes; replacement of 34.5 kV multi way oil filled switches and 34.5 kV power transformers at Tanajib marine facility with a 13.8 kV looped distribution system comprising of 34.5 kV/13.8 kV step down transformer, 34.5 kV outdoor circuit switcher, outdoor 13.8 kV pad mounted SF6 compact switchgears and loop feed 13.8 kV/ .48 kV pad mounted distribution transformers. In addition replacement of existing 13.8 kV oil filled switches at Safaniya substation # 8 with a new 13.8 kV pad mounted SF6 outdoor switch fuse unit and obsolete 4.16 kV switchgears of Tanajib central utilities plant substations with new 4.16 kV switchgear.

CONSTRUCTION OF SUBSTATION “N” AT JEDDAH REFINERY

Demolition of the existing substation having 2 each 13.8KV, 2400KVA transformer, 2 each 480V double ended switchgears 3000A, bus ducts, etc.  Construction of a new substation of the same rating including new transformers, switchgears, busduct with enhanced short circuit rating.  The work also includes the installation of 15KV grade cables from the existing MC switchgear, termination, testing and commissioning of the Substation, etc.  Installation of ground grid around Substation, all utilities like HVAC, fire protection, lighting, etc.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM UPGRADE

Construction of new electrical system for Ras Tanura industrial area and demolish the old system.  The work included; construction and installation of. 13.8KV high voltage underground power distribution system, 13.8KV high voltage pad mounted oil filled power distribution transformers, 13.8KV high voltage pad mounted power distribution SF6 multiway switch station (LBS), 2.4KV medium voltage power distribution switchgears at Substation No. 3, 2.4 KV Medium Voltage bus duct at Substation 1, Neutral Grounding Resistor (NGR), low voltage underground power distribution system, new street lighting system, testing and commissioning of the above equipment and cables.
